Iberdrola Ireland will help to turn Ireland's offshore wind potential into a reality

Discover our activity in Ireland and how we are driving the growth of renewable energy such as offshore wind in the country.

Working in partnership

Iberdrola and DP Energy have combined their world leading renewables experience and local knowledge to deliver a 3 gigawatt (GW) pipeline that will help turn Ireland's offshore wind potential into a reality.

The projects are located in three clusters on the east, west and south coasts of the country, of which some will be eligible for the forthcoming offshore auctions in 2025-2030

Our projects

Inis Ealga Marine Energy Park (1 GW)

Off the south coast of counties Waterford and Cork using floating platforms operating in 60m water depths.

Clarus Offshore Wind Farm (1 GW)

Off the West coast of county Clare and Kerry using floating platforms operating in 60m water depths

Shelmalere Offshore Wind Farm (1 GW)

Off the East coast of counties Wicklow and Wexford using fixed-bottom foundations operating in water depths under 60m.

In Ireland, Iberdrola plans to invest up to €100 million in new renewable and storage projects by 2025. Existing projects include the repowering of the Barnesmore wind farm in County Donegal, and the Rigged Hill and Corkey projects in Northern Ireland, all of which include storage. It also built the country’s largest battery facility in Gorman (50 MW), which has been operational since 2022.
