Iberdrola and PAM Panorama advance electrification in Italy
- A concrete step towards decarbonisation and reducing the environmental impact of the retail sector.

The partnership between Iberdrola Italia and PAM Panorama has entered its operational phase, with the supply of renewable electricity now underway under the 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed by the two companies last year.
Under the agreement, PAM Panorama’s retail network — comprising the Pam, Panorama, Pam Local and Pam City brands — will be supplied with renewable electricity generated by Iberdrola Fénix, the solar plant recently commissioned by Iberdrola.
The start of energy deliveries marks one of the largest renewable electricity supply projects in Italy’s retail sector and represents a significant milestone in reducing the emissions associated with commercial operations.
Over the lifetime of the agreement, Iberdrola will supply 1,000 GWh of certified renewable electricity generated from photovoltaic sources. This will avoid more than 38,300 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year — equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of around 40,300 households — reinforcing PAM Panorama’s commitment to increasingly efficient and sustainable energy use.
Valerio Faccenda, Country Manager of Iberdrola Italia, said: "The launch of this agreement with PAM Panorama is a tangible step towards decarbonising Italy's retail sector. This PPA shows how renewable electricity can be integrated into large-scale consumption, delivering both environmental and commercial benefits. At Iberdrola, we are committed to supporting this transition through long-term renewable energy solutions that help businesses accelerate their decarbonisation efforts."
Alessandro Riolfo, Technical Director at PAM Panorama, added: "Supplying our stores across Italy with renewable electricity turns our commitment to the energy transition into concrete action. Our partnership with Iberdrola allows us to integrate sustainable solutions into our day-to-day operations, reducing our environmental impact while contributing to the decarbonisation of the retail sector. This project forms part of a broader sustainability strategy and reflects our determination to play an active role in the transition to a low-carbon economy while promoting best practices across the retail industry."
All the renewable electricity supplied to PAM Panorama's stores under the agreement comes from Iberdrola Fénix, a solar plant located across the Sicilian municipalities of Belpasso, Centuripe and Paternò, between the provinces of Enna and Catania. Recently inaugurated by Iberdrola, it is currently the largest solar plant in Italy.
