Iberdrola Australia has partnered with Country Universities Centre – Isaac (CUC)
Iberdrola Australia has partnered with Country Universities Centre – Isaac (CUC) to fund five scholarships each year for three years to support students living in the Isaac region to
further their education.
CUCs have been established in communities across regional Australia with the goal of providing equitable access to higher education.
The partnership will deliver $75,000 of scholarships into the Isaac region, supported by virtual reality and IT equipment, and sponsorship of meeting facilities through $15,000 in additional funding.
Paul Simshauser, Chief Executive Officer, Iberdrola Australia said regional students in particular face more challenges in accessing higher education due to the tyranny of distance and connectivity issues. Our partnership with CUC will allow more students access to further their education and stay in their home towns.
“We believe being a good neighbour means looking after the community in which we operate and helping it grow,” Mr Simshauser said.
“This partnership will deliver five $5000 scholarships annually over three years and make it easier for regional students to access a good quality education with the latest technology.”
“We recently announced $750,000 jointly with our colleagues at CS Energy and Squadron Energy to upgrade the Telstra tower at Broadsound – this will deliver better connectivity for students, businesses, and the whole Clarke Creek community.”
CUC allows regional students to study locally by providing a free, quiet, and safe study space for students completing nationally recognised qualifications.
